Morality
I don't believe it was morally permissible to kill the Cabin boy because I don't believe one person should unwillingly be killed to benefit other people. I do feel that consent does matter. As I was writing this it made me think of the army. Solders die for the sake of other people, but they do it willingly. I feel consent does play a role in this case heavily, but I also think the circumstances are important to consider. Killing the cabin boy was selfish act in my opinion. It was not benefiting enough people to be permissible in my opinion. I think a lottery plays some role because of the willingness factor, however I don't find it so important that it justifies the act because killing one another isn't for a huge greater good, only the people on the ship. I just don't think it's right. I respect the idea of utilitarianism because I think the majority and the greater good of the people is something that should always be protected. However I feel a bit different when it comes to killing someone for it because a person's life is also something that should always be protected.

This past weekend Whitney Houston's daughter was found face down unresponsive on a bathtub. This was the same way her mother was found sadly. Currently she is on the hospital with family and with a seduced coma. Their are no signs negative or positive really.
I felt so sad to hear this story and I find it interesting that she was found the same way her mother was found. Obviously it isn't confirmed but i think maybe that was a suicide attempt, only because i feel the odds of her be on fun like that by mistake are slim.
